Microsoft Security Essentials download

Microsoft is late getting in the game but it is slowly deploying tools to help Windows users combat virus and malware. Microsoft Security Essentials is the next step in rebuilding their sullied image. In the past they have released Windows Antispyware; later renamed Defender. As a standalone download, not many people heard about it and even less used it on their Windows XP machines. As of Vista and beyond, Defender is included in your OS for really Microsoft’s protection. From the complaints I hear in the field, one of the top reason people are switching to the Mac is their lack of viruses.

My own experience has shown that Vista is infinately more secure than XP. It doesn’t simply let the user with admin rights do anything with just a click of a mouse button or otherwise. An unrestructed administrative rights user is like giving a loaded gun to a suicidal person and telling them the world is out to get them. With the built-in Windows Defender and now Morro (MS Security Essenetials), Gates and Co. hope to fight the enemy at the gates that have given Microsoft such a bad reputation.

You need to uninstall McAfee but before you do, read their instructions very carefully and back-up your system. It is good to know you are switching to MS Essentials. this program works better at removing rootkits and is frequently updated.

Sure would like to see some free college level business, math, science class for those of us who are now retired, never worked in our majors or just slept through our degrees and would like to tinker with em in our old age.
