Background SEO and Promotion

June 23rd, 2009

You may have not seen much updates lately but surely I have been working on this site. It’s just something you don’t see up front. I’ve tweaked some SEO stuff. I’ve made my site work in most browsers. I’ve promoted it by getting the word out. I’m still relatively green on all of this but I’ll be happy to tell everyone what I’ve done so that if it works, you can do the same. I’ve been keeping pretty good documentation of everything. Unlike most sites you’ve seen on how to get traffic, I am truly an outsider trying to squeeze as many page view as possible without stooping to questionable practices. I don’t already have a big site that I can syphon traffic from by simply getting a mention. I don’t have an established affiliate marketing machine to monetize my site…yet ;) Everything I’ve done, I’m doing by reading other site and coming up with my own conclusions to what I think will work. I’m going to document it here since I feel that it is every part of technology as a new iPhone.

Google earth hearts Disneyland Paris

June 21st, 2009

Mickey Mouse“If you can dream it, you can do it. Always remember that this whole thing was started with a dream and a mouse.” With those words, Walt Disney set out to build an empire from our dreams and fantasies. Today I stumbled upon something truly magical. Disney has put their whole park into the realm of virtual tourism. True your kids won’t talk to you for a while if you opt to get them there virtually instead of physically. Think of the long line and humidity you’re sparing your family, though. Using over 450GB worth of about 85,000 photos, they are able to recreate the whole of Disneyland Paris. Just install google earth and start your virtual vacation.

Text message to any phone

June 16th, 2009

SMS (short message service) can be expensive. My carrier charges 15 cents a message…incoming or outgoing. Before I signed on a contract with built in messaging, I would wake up and hope that no one would text me so I can save a few cents a day. Even with my current plan, I am always careful of the messages I send and monitor my text message limit regularly.

For those who do not have unlimited Text Messaging, here is a great way to save on one half your text bill. Send outgoing text messages via email.

Sprint – phonenumber@messaging.sprintpcs.com
Verizon – phonenumber@vtext.com
T-Mobile - phonenumber@tmomail.com
AT&T – phonenumber@txt.att.net
AIM – +1phonenumber

Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings

June 13th, 2009

Staff_of_KingsI’ve been looking forward to this game for months, if not years now. I finally saw a preview of it on the MTV awards last night. Along with that and seeing Eminem with a face full of Borat’s behind, it made the this year’s award show not so boring. I can’t wait for that new Bruno movie. Warning! If you are offended by toilet humor or gay jokes, Sacha Baron Cohen and his works should be avoided. Anyhow, it will be great to use the Wii Remote as a whip!!

The plot is centered around Indy’s search for the Staff of Moses. This games takes place one year AFTER ‘The Last Crusade’ Technically, it uses the game engine from ‘Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.’ I saw a glimps of it at a E3 event back in 2006. Hopefully it will not disappoint like other games that tie in with movies. Originally there was going to be a PS3 and Xbox360 release but with their withdrawal it can only mean the graphics will not be so great. Nevertheless I will be getting my bullwhip hand ready for June 9th release!
