LaCie iamaKey usb flash drive

July 13th, 2009 Author: Categories: Reviews

iamaKey_angleI remember when I got my 4GB verbatim USB Flash drive from Sam’s Club. I paid nearly 90 dollars for it. This was of course a few years ago when flash drives were still fairly new and expensive. Today companies are giving it away as promotional materials like pens and scratch pads. I would not put any valuable information in those freebies. If they’re anything like the pens, your data is safer in the hands of Bernard Madoff. What do you never leave home without? Or shouldn’t I need to rephrase. Your keys! Why not put your USB Flash drive on the chain and keep everything together?

This is a great little product from LaCie. It is waterproof (I just haven’t tested it out yet, just taking their word on it). The device is surprisingly thin and sturdy with an all metal design. My only concern is the wear and tear of the contacts in which the usb port in your computer interacts with it. I would figure after a few thousand times in and out of your computer and clanking around with your other keys it will be damaged. Time will tell if this will be the case. Just don’t get drunk and shove it into your ignition and hope to start your car. You may introduce a virus into your vehicle and drive home with only 3 wheels. (I’m kidding…I hope)

But you can do it manually, use the harddisk as a second one, under windows, quick format it once, next find a really big file, 4 – 10gb maybe and copy it over and over again until your hdd is full.

I am an COPD patient with Asthma and Chronic Bronchitis on supplement oxygen 24/7. I was prescribed Vitamin D3 in 50,000 units once a week for a month when my blood showed that I was dangereous low. I had and still take over the counter Calcium with Vitamin D and a Vitamin D 3 1000 units.
