Firefox is out today so I thought we’d look at the new features that it offers. Like other past updates, this one is sure to swallow up add-ons that were previously not built in. Also if you use many add-ons, you may want to wait a while or check to see if your favorite add-ons are compatible yet. I’ve check my four add-ons and they are ready to go so I took the plunge. Here is what I particularly like.
1. Undo a closed window – How many times have you accidentally closed a window full of tabs and wanted it back? Now just go to the History window and go to ‘recently closed window’
2.
Tab Tearing – This is one thing I haven’t played around with much but I think I’ll like it when I start using it more. Basically you drag a tab out in the open and it becomes a separate window. If you drag a tab that independent into a cluster of them, it joins nicely and you are rid of an extra window. I think
Chrome and the new
Safari already have this. Now I have the power too…muhahaahaha!

You may be wondering why a technology blog would write about Michael Jackson but anyone who has seen Captian EO at Disney theme parks can tell you; Michael Jackson loved technology. I went there to see it with my family in the late 80s and early 90s. It was a short 3D film that took what seemed like hours in line to see, but I came out of it in shock at the experience. I thought to myself, if I was not here now, there would have been no way for a person like me to have had such an experience like this in any town or country in this world…unless drugs were involved. It had lasers, smokes, and starfields that made me feel like I was flying through the universe. Even Michael knew that anything is better with lasers and 3D glasses (and not those cheap blue and red ones either). While the show is long gone, the impact it had on me lingers on for a kid growing up shooting his little brother with plastic laser guns and making paper spaceships. His music videos were also cutting edge. While Elvis and Sinatra had their share of the spotlight on TV, it was merely there to showcase their careers. Michael Jackson was shaped by TV and television was shaped by him. He was not just a person that need to be listened to, he had to be watched. From the outrageous dressing style to the moonwalk, one would be cheated from the whole experience if his music was their only source. One of my friends today pointed out a link to the studio that made his Thriller album, Westlake Recording Studios. Look at all those buttons to press!! Read more…
I’ve been looking forward to this game for months, if not years now. I finally saw a preview of it on the MTV awards last night. Along with that and seeing Eminem with a face full of Borat’s behind, it made the this year’s award show not so boring. I can’t wait for that new Bruno movie. Warning! If you are offended by toilet humor or gay jokes, Sacha Baron Cohen and his works should be avoided. Anyhow, it will be great to use the Wii Remote as a whip!!

The plot is centered around Indy’s search for the Staff of Moses. This games takes place one year AFTER ‘The Last Crusade’ Technically, it uses the game engine from ‘Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.’ I saw a glimps of it at a E3 event back in 2006. Hopefully it will not disappoint like other games that tie in with movies. Originally there was going to be a PS3 and Xbox360 release but with their withdrawal it can only mean the graphics will not be so great. Nevertheless I will be getting my bullwhip hand ready for June 9th release!
Microsoft’s new Zune will have quite an impressive list of features. First of all, for anyone thinking it’ll have HD video, this can be misleading. It is HD radio with an option of HD video OUTPUT. It will be running Windows CE underneath. On the surface, it will have an OLED touch screen interface with a 16:9 widescreen format on a 3.3 inch screen. Aside from this, it will have built-in full screen internet browser with accelerometer and a touch screen QWERTY keyboard.

Everything so far has gotten the iPod Touch beat with the exception of iTunes. This is where Apple’s true value lies. You pay for the device once but iTunes will keep making them money as long as there are things to see, hear, and play with on there.
