Comfort Wipe Commercial

July 17th, 2009

garfieldBeing a slow start of the weekend, I came across this little gem on youtube after missing most of it on REAL tv. Let me set this up for you. Imagine you’re laying on your favorite recliner around midnight. All of your kids and wife are sleeping and the dog is on your lap. The house is finally cooling down from a hot, unusually dry, summer. You turn on the TV for some downtime before bed. The eerie silence of the night is broken by the booming sounds of an over volumed info-merical. A split second before you change the channel, something on the screen perks your interest. There’s a lady holding what looks like a giant toothbrush. Although not intended to be used on THIS end of your body, this incredible apparatus shares the same function as your everyday toothbrush. Click play on the video below to see for yourself. If you make it to the end of the clip without hyperventilating from laughter and purchase this product, you also get the ‘get a grip’ handle. This unique, suction cupped old time telephone receiver looking thing will help you get out of the shower without slipping. Of course if the suction is not firmly establish, said device will hopefully smack you in the face to remind you to NEVER stay up late.

Jawbone 1 black bluetooth headset

May 20th, 2009

jawboneI recently switched to a bluetooth headset full time. Before I had three headset somewhere in my office but I never used them more than a day. The Jawbone has been the only one that has consistently made me feel naked without it when I leave the house. It fits snugly in my ears and after eight hours at work, my ears do not feel like it is going to swell up and fly out of my head. Another feature of the Jawbone line of headsets is the active noise cancellation. There is a piece that stays planted to the side of your face that detects vibrations from you and this technology is used to filter out what is noise and what is your speech. Other than a really windy day, this system lets the person on the other line hear you as clear as you were within earshot. My only complaint is the charger is pretty specialize with its’ magnetic mechanism so having a charger everywhere requires a significant investment. I found this first generation Jawbone on sale over at buy.com. With free shipping it is only 39.99. I don’t think you’re going to find a better price anywhere. I don’t know how long this will last so get it while you can.

Transformer usb flash memory – ravage

May 19th, 2009

transformersThere are so many cool things from my youth that I wish I still held onto or not broken. Such examples are transformer toys. Today while I was looking around the net for some cool gadgets to write about, I found one such thing. It is a usb thumb drive that transforms into Ravage, a feline that use to turn into a cassette tape from the 80s. How fitting now that it transforms into something that still holds data but more relevant in our age and time. I remember putting him into a cassette player named Soundwave. Now I can stick him into my computer and reveal all of his Cybertron secrets. Too bad it is only 2GB. I’m sure I’ve lost many reader with this post…if I had any.

Palm Pre coming soon

May 19th, 2009

preThe Palm Pre will be coming to Sprint on June 6th. Rumor has it, it will be $199.99 after 100 mail in rebate and a 2 year service contract. Three main things have perked my interest in this phone.

1. a hardware keypad
2. a good sdk for software development (we’ve all see the we got an app for that commercials)
3. the touchstone charging dock that is the first inductive charging solution for the phone.

I also hope it’s not like the Samsung Instinct where it pigeon holes people into a premium contract just to get the phone. I have a touch diamond now for nearly a year and I’ve been pretty satisfied but the prospect of a near iphone device without the high monthly fee may make me renew my contract a year early on the 6th of June!

Anti boss key alternative

May 16th, 2009

I found this device while looking for a productivity item on the internet. I don’t know how this can make you more productive at work. I guess by hiding what you’re really working on, THAT is why it makes you productive. It’s called STEALTHSWITCH and it does what it sounds like. It is a small foot peddle that once you set up in software, it will hide what you’re doing and put in its place what you SHOULD be doing. What’s funny is watching this video on their site. I found a better application for this tool. It can become a quick key for anything you want launched on your computer. You can have up to four of these together on one machine. Imagine you can have one peddle that launches a browser, one for email, one for your current project, and one to release the trap door under the chair of whoever you don’t want to talk with anymore down into the alligator pit in your basement. >:-)
